What to do in Chamonix?The Aiguille du Midi
The Aiguille du Midi is truly a must-see in Chamonix and the French Alps. However, being an extremely busy tourist spot, it will be preferable to get up early to fully enjoy it before the usual visit. You will need to remember to cover yourself up because the high mountains keep temperatures low even in summer. The ascent is about 20 minutes with breathtaking views. A snowshoe hike
There are dozens of trails for a snowshoe hike in Chamonix but at an altitude of 1500m above Les Houches, the wildlife park of Merlet seems to be the perfect place because the trail is not so difficult and will allow beginners as well as the most experienced to enjoy the joys of snowshoeing safely!

Montenvers train - Mer de Glace
The Mer de Glace is the second must-see in Chamonix after climbing the Aiguille du Midi! For lovers of authenticity, know that the ride is done aboard a little red train.
The departure is from Chamonix station and the ascent to the Montenvers site takes about 20 minutes. The route, on the mountainside, offers an exceptional panorama from start to finish. Once on the Montenvers site, you have to visit the ice cave at the foot of the glacier. Sports enthusiasts can walk there in 20 minutes, and the less athletic with the cable car. "Less athletic" but not lazy either because 480 steps separate the arrival of the gondola from the entrance to the ice cave. You can also visit the Glaciorium, which shows the evolution of the glacier over time with global warming and its future... Finally, you can visit the museum "the temple of nature". This exceptional site offers the possibility of dining, but also of staying in a magnificent hotel renovated in July 2017, where you will not be disturbed by the neighbors! A little tip: don't arrive at the train station at the last moment to choose a seat on the mountainside! Skiing in the Brévent-Flégère area
