Quintessence of luxury, the Orient Express puts a foot in the hotel business, with the opening at the end of the year, of their first hotel in Bangkok. Difficult to make more mythical than the Orient-Express. This pure luxury train has marked the collective imagination. Hero of books (signed Joseph Kessel, Ernest Hemingway or Agatha Christie), films (Lawrence of Arabia, The Crime of the Orient Express ...), his story begins in 1883, with the inauguration of a train which includes, for the first time, sleeper cars and dining cars. First called Express d'Orient, his first voyage connects Constantinople to Bucharest. Offering unparalleled comfort, it includes beds dressed in silk sheets, marble toilets, silver cutlery ... Each cabin goes from comfortable living room during the day to a cocoon room at night. Frequented by Leo Tolstoy, Marlene Dietrich, Serge Diaghilev ... The universe of this prestige train wins, this year, the hotel industry. The Orient Express unveils a hotel in Bangkok With a multitude of hotel openings around the world, the first one should see the light at the end of 2019 in Bangkok. Decorated by Tristant Auer (behind the decoration of RAN, Astair, Brasserie du Crillon, Sinner ...) he went to hide in King Power Mahanakhon, the tallest tower in Thailand. And if its decor is still a bit enigmatic, the installation wagon-bed of its interior architect, presented during the exhibition AD Interiors (which is taking place right now in Paris), can give some leads.
