The new luxury hotels opening in Europe for 2021Airelles Chateau de Versailles - Versailles, France
Incredible new offering from Airelles that includes exclusive private access of the Louis XIV's palace and surrounding gardens. The former Grand Hotel Cannes on the Promenade de la Croisette, will become a new Mondrian hotel. The hotel will feature 75 rooms, a restaurant and bar overlooking an expansive private garden, as well as a private beach. Mondrian Cannes features custom interiors designed by Monaco-based Christophe Poyet and Emil Humnert and world-class dining options; Argentinian concept-driven Leynia restaurant, EllaMia coffee shop, and Hyde Kitchen + Cocktails.

Mandarin Oriental is rebranding and creating an extensive renovation of the iconic Hotel Palace Luzern which first opened in 1906 and is located in the heart of the city, on the shores of Lake Lucerne. The property will include 146 rooms and suites overlooking the lake and mountains.

The Bordeaux property will be housed within a 19th century building, and will offer 97 rooms, as well as a lounge bar, spa, meeting space and a 2,500 sf open air terrace.

Maison Albar Hotel boutique-hotel brand has announced the takeover of the 4-star Boscolo Park hotel in Nice, as part of a 5-star hotel development project in collaboration with City Mall Group.
Located on Avenue de Verdun in Nice, the Boscolo Park hotel offers breathtaking views of the Baie des Anges and the Nice hinterland. As part of the large-scale project carried out jointly by City Mall Group and Maison Albar, a Paris Inn group brand, the establishment will be the subject of a vast program of renovation works, led by the Nice archetecture cabinet of Jean-Paul Gomis, and which will give birth to a 5-star hotel complex. In the former red-light district of Pigalle, Soho House Paris will open with 35 bedrooms, a gym, and a courtyard garden overlooked by a pool terrace.
"We decided to follow the story of Jean Cocteau and draw our inspiration from the beginning of the 20th century, a bohemian, eclectic and artistic era for Paris," explains Soho House design director Linda Boronkay about the future address . Notable offerings include a Bvlgari restaurant and bar that opens to a charming courtyard garden, an 82-foot pool, and a spectacular location for experiencing the best of the City of Lights.

A gem of a hotel, quite literally. It’s named after the 19-carat pink diamond which once was a centerpiece of the French crown jewels; this 63-room property sits two blocks from the Seine on the Rue des Archives in the heart of the Marais. It’s the first city center property from the French luxury hotel chainlet, Maisons Pariente, run by real estate mogul Patrick and his daughters Leslie and Kimberly and known for hotels like Crillon Le Brave in Provence.

The former Villa Eugenie, built by Napoleon III for his Spanish wife Eugenie de Montijo and transformed into a casino-hotel under the name of Palais Biarritz in 1881, is about to be discovered in its finery. While its last renovation was sixty years ago, gigantic work was undertaken by the American group Hyatt, the new owner of the premises, in order to refurbish the swimming pool, the restaurant and the terraces, and to dust off the 92 rooms and 50 suites, including that of L'Impératrice. Napoleon III furniture, rare paintings and tapestries will be restored for the occasion. When it reopens, the Hôtel du Palais, currently the only palace on the Atlantic coast, will join The Unbound Collection by Hyatt brand, like the Martinez in Cannes or the Hôtel du Louvre in Paris.

Costa Navarino is located in Messinia in the southwest Peloponnese. Home to two 5-star deluxe hotels, The Romanos, a Luxury Collection Resort and The Westin Resort, Costa Navarino, Anazoe Spa, a 4,000m2. spa & thalassotherapy center, two signature golf courses, over 20 fine dining venues. The resorts are part of Costa Navarino’s development of three new areas for the destination: Navarino Hills, Navarino Bay and Navarino Waterfront.
The luxury hotel at Navarino Bay will offer 99 suites and pool villas on the waterfront. The resort will have an earth-sheltered design with the buildings blending into the curved hillside with planted roofs. One & Only Kea Island - Greece
Situated in a stunning 65-hectare beachfront site on the west side of the enchanting Kéa island in the Cyclades, One&Only Kéa Island is a new luxury retreat, currently under development. This particularly spectacular project by Philippe Starck, allied to three entrepreneurs and financiers from the region, will perch the reproduction of a 19th century Metz villa at the top of a 14-storey building in Metz! The decoration will be entirely thought out by the designer who promises "elegance of economy, intelligence, minimum, simplicity, comfort. ". The hotel will have 119 rooms and suites and will offer a panoramic view of the city and the Pompidou Metz building from its shaded terrace. Maison Heler will join the ho collection.

The iconic 110-year-old building has undergone extensive renovations to return to its former glory as one of Europe's most prestigious hotels. After a delayed opening due to COVID-19, Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Madrid is set to open its doors in 2021, and we can hardly way to discover every inch of this Belle Epoque–style hotel. Count Benedikt Bolza, the aristocratic owner of this 3,700-acre estate in the Umbrian hills, also happens to be an architect, so he personally supervised the makeover of the ramshackle pile (look for the castle that dates back to the 10th century) into an upscale compound that offers a quieter alternative to Tuscany’s country properties. A plus for horsey types: the onsite Equestrian Center.
Opening: April 2021 Rocco Forte Villa Igiea - Palermo, Italy
This hotel was revamped under the auspices of the Anglo-Italian hotelier and his interior designer sister Olga Polizzi to recapture some of the glamour of its heyday, when it was originally built as an enormous private mansion in the Belle Epoque era by architect Ernesto Basile. Expect the vaulted and frescoed bar to be the hottest see-and-be-seen spot in the city, a refreshingly buzzy alternative to the Sicilian coast.
Opening: Spring 2021 One & Only - Portonovi, Montenegro
One&Only Resorts—the brand behind the One&Only Reethi Rah, and the new wildlife lodge One&Only Gorilla’s Nest, in Rwanda—this year is focusing on a very different location. The picturesque Boka Bay in Montenegro will be the group’s first European resort, on the western coast of the Balkans. Set on the edge of the Adriatic Sea between the towering mountains and inky sea, Portonovi will be a wellness retreat and a spa resort, designed with around 140 rooms, villas, and residences, with a yacht marina as well. Other than the picturesque coastline, the nearby riviera escape of Tivat and the medieval town of Kotor will offer plenty to explore.
One&Only’s foray into the old continent will not stop with the resort in Montenegro. We are looking forward also to the launch of One&Only Kéa Island in Greece, penciled in to open in 2021. Opening: 2021 No Mad - London, England
The fourth property from NoMad (after hotels in New York and Los Angeles) is also the company’s first foray outside of the United States. It will introduce its special blend of comfort and understated elegance to London, in the heart of Covent Garden. The hotel is taking over a listed building, previously The Bow Street Magistrates’ Court and Police Station—and its concept will weave in the history of the place as an integral part of its DNA. Reimagined as a hotel with space for private events, the building will also host a small museum with rotating exhibitions honoring the history of the Metropolitan Police Force. The 91 rooms and suites will also have much of the original architecture preserved and incorporated into the design, thanks to the New York-based interior design firm Roman & Williams.
Opening: 2021 The Madrid Edition - Madrid, Spain
The Madrid EDITION will have 200 guestrooms and suites—some with terraces—and five dining outlets, including a signature restaurant, cocktail bar, Sky Bar and rooftop terrace, plus an outdoor pool, fitness center and spa. Flexible studios with nearly 4,000 square feet of space will host meetings and events for large or small groups.
Set in a square surrounded by historic buildings, The Madrid EDITION is near Puerta de Sol, one of the city’s most famous sites, and within walking distance to The Golden Triangle of Art. When it opens, The Madrid EDITION will be the second EDITION Hotel in Spain, following the opening of The Barcelona EDITION in 2018. Opening : Fall 2021 The Rome Edition - Rome, Italy
Expected to open in fall 2021, EDITION Hotels’ first Italian property will have 95 guest rooms and suites, among which, a Penthouse suite with a 1,300-square-foot terrace. The Rome EDITION will offer a signature restaurant with outdoor dining space, a Punch Room Bar and a Rooftop Terrace where guests can enjoy a seasonal bite, a drink overlooking the city and a private gathering with friends. In addition to customizable indoor and outdoor event spaces, the hotel will also be home to a rooftop swimming pool, a spacious high-tech gym and two treatment rooms, including a couple’s massage experience.
With its central location, just a few steps from Via Veneto and Bernini’s Tritone Fountain in Piazza Barberini, The Rome EDITION is within a short walk from many top sites, such as the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, the Borghese Gardens and Gallery and more. The hotel is housed within a historical building designed by Cesare Pascoletti in collaboration with architect Marcello Piacentini, one of Italy’s most famed architects of Rationalism in the early 20th century.
