The location alone is peaceful because of the lush green forest of 30 acres. It gives a modern, yet colonial heritage styled vibe with the buildings dating back to the 1800s and through the contemporary designs done by the Foster Partners, who are known for their innovative architecture. All 61 rooms and the 51 suites have an Asian blend with soothing colour palettes, floor to ceiling windows and elegant wooden furnishings as they were designed by the Indonesian designer Jaya Ibrahim.
The highlight is, of course, the massive balconies of the suites and rooms of Capella, particularly the Constellation Room which have a jacuzzi in the room so that the guests can enjoy a tropical spa bath while admiring the stunning views of the South China Sea. The Darling has 17 stories and of course, the highlight is its 57 luxurious suites each having different features ranging in size from 750 square feet to 500 square feet.
