Sofitel Paris Faubourg reviewLocation
Located in the heart of Paris and the very luxurious atmosphere of the Faubourg Saint-Honoré, Sofitel Paris Le Faubourg, born of two 18th century mansions, has a prime situation. In a side street between the Place de la Concorde and the Faubourg Saint Honoré, the hotel enjoys an exceptional peacefulness. Only a few steps away from the hotel, between Faubourg St Honoré, Place Vendôme and Champs Elysées, you will find the greatest jewelers, the haute couture boutiques and most of the exclusive restaurants in Paris. But you can also find in a few minutes, on foot, the Tuileries Garden, the Orangerie Museum and the Louvre. To discover other monuments, such as the Eiffel Tower, Montmartre or the Arc de Triomphe, the metro stations Concorde and Madeleine are in the immediate vicinity. The hotel also offers the possibility to order a driver for you, so why not take advantage of it?
The Decoration
Here are some of the most beautiful stores in the world. The Sofitel Paris Faubourg is the ideal place to immerse yourself in the world of luxury and Parisian haute couture. Rethought a few years ago by the decorator Didier Gomez, gray, gold and black tones are in the spotlight in this marvelous setting. After passing through the imposing wooden entrance door and its turnstile, we find an immense glass roof bursting with luminosity. The designer combines 18th century armchairs and pedestal tables with ceilings painted with very contemporary ivory and bronze motifs, modern canvases and fashion photos by Irvin Penn, Horst, Cécile Beaton, Woods… “I focused my project on the haute couture spirit of the Faubourg Saint-Honoré, a reflection of Parisian elegance, very glamour-chic, with rooms designed like bouquets,” explains Didier Gomez.
Rooms
In the 147 rooms and suites, photos of models, contemporary canvases, gray carpets, white walls, touches of gold and black, moldings, crystal wall lights, the combination of antique furniture and modern rooms reiterate the concept. The rooms are equipped with Bose speakers, TV, espresso machine, mini bar, Evian water bottles are available. The MyBed bedding gives you an unequaled pleasure, that of having the sensation of sleeping wrapped in a cloud. For hospitality products, the Sofitel Paris Faubourg is no exception to the rule of other establishments under the Sofitel pavilion, as you will find the Eau d’Orange Verte range from Hermès. A true olfactory signature that we always appreciate. The rooms and suites perfectly embody the glamorous chic Parisian spirit. The sophisticated elegance of the rooms, the couture and theatrical ambiance of the Collection and Opera Suites, the chic and arty style of the Prestige Suites or the exceptional charm of a penthouse overlooking the rooftops of the capital…
A little extra, the Opera Suite has its own hammam. Ps: You will probably need to consult the reception desk to help you turn it off to avoid surprises. Services
The services start as soon as you arrive since the concierge is at your disposal to organize everything you wish to achieve during your stay, he will also be able to advise you perfectly in your choices. You can have free access to the fitness room and the hammam. For an additional fee, you can take advantage of private sports lessons or the possibility to enjoy massages. The hotel offers a parking lot as well as Wi-Fi internet access throughout the hotel. On request and at no extra charge, you can bring your pet with you.
Food & Beverage
The Sofitel Paris Faubourg offers you “Blossom”, an upscale restaurant open from morning until late in the evening to serve you breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is also quite possible to have breakfast in your room (fresh juice, coffee, baskets of bread, pastries, jams, honey and butter, eggs benedict, as an omelette or scrambled with bacon, among others). For lunch and dinner, the restaurant offers a top-of-the-range menu of French dishes using organic products from chef Alexandre Auger.
A dedicated menu is available in room service, available 24 hours a day. The Bar du Faubourg is open very early in the morning and until after midnight. The chic space designed by Didier Gomez serves fresh fruit juices, coffee, classic and personalized cocktails as well as a selection of digestives, champagnes and red, white and sweet wines. Afternoon tea and a light snack menu are available. Value for Money
By and large, the services offered and the decoration are in line with what you would expect from a 5* hotel in Paris. However, a small drawback is the minor multimedia problems (TV and speaker) as well as the fact that an indoor swimming pool is missing. To be noted, its perfect location which gives it this little extra. This is for sure one of the best Sofitel.
