Plaza Athénée hotel Paris, the expert opinion
Located on the very hype avenue Montaigne, address of French Haute Couture that inspires the greatest designers, the location of the Plaza Athénée is ideal for shopping in stores of prestigious brands such as YSL, Louis Vuittton, Chanel or Dior.
And for entertainment, its location in the heart of the "Golden Triangle", gives access to the largest and renowned Parisian theaters and cabarets such as the Champs-Elysées Theater or the Crazy Horse.
Identifiable among a thousand with its famous red awnings and geraniums, its facade marks the timeless character of this house. The interior reveals the same timelessness: a decor awe-inspiring, combining classical architecture (one that reveals the power abroad from France), to Art Deco elements enhanced by contemporary finishes. Let surprise you from the entrance hall : polished white marble is everywhere, the monumental columns are adorned with imposing floral compositions.
The gastronomic restaurant room exudes its own atmosphere, through an incredible combination of modernity and tradition : woodwork, columns and chandeliers contrast with superb ultra modern silver bench seats with mirror effect. Meet at the hotel bar redesigned in 2004, to discover a unique atmosphere with modern sophistication : the old woodwork are highlighted by the play of a ceiling dressed in electric blue fabric deep for a totally dreamlike experience. At the corner of an arched room, passage between the restaurants and the bar, take a few musical moments.
Value for money
Overall the services offered and the decoration are in line with what can expect of a palace. Note the little extra in the rooms: an office with multimedia now essential for professional and private stays. Small downside which takes the place of decoration : if on the whole, the Plaza Athénée perfectly reconciles the alliance of a classic decoration and Art Deco with a contemporary spirit, the bathrooms display an aging spirit despite the presence of noble materials such as white marble. The spirit cannot combine modernity and tradition.
