A stone's throw from the Burj Khalifa, a futuristic curving skyscraper now houses the ME Dubai hotel, entirely designed by star architect Zaha Hadid. Visit of this astonishing address with a sci-fi decor.
Me Dubai in 3 points
This is the first ME by Meliá establishment in the Middle East, the ME Dubai joins the 6 hotels (Milan, London, Ibiza, Madrid, Sitges, Cabo) of the luxury and contemporary collection of the Spanish group. It is in the Opus skyscraper, a futuristic curving building composed of two towers connected by a cube, that the Iraqi-English star architect Zaha Hadid - who died prematurely in 2016 - chose to install this total work. Indeed, the height of perfectionism, a large part of the furniture was designed or selected by Zaha Hadid herself.
The atrium, which looks like a spaceship, while balconies and sinuous lines, serves the 74 rooms and 19 suites of the hotel, with different color schemes: "Midnight" in reference to the bubbling nightlife and the sky. Dubai, or “Desert”, a nod to the first dunes a few kilometers away. The 5-star hotel also has a 650 m2 spa with outdoor swimming pool, and is committed to the UAE Vision 2021 to reduce its carbon footprint or not to use plastic.
A true “urban resort”, we find at ME Dubai several restaurants - Latin cuisine, tapas, Botanica bar, neo-English brasserie or Japanese restaurant - and a rich cultural program which aims to promote Middle Eastern culture and artists.
The hotel has no less than 5 bars and restaurants.
The bedrooms occupy the first 3 levels and are open to the outside by large windows.
The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool and a 650 m2 spa.
