After four years of pharaonic work and 250 million euros invested, the mythical Hotel de Paris Monte Carlo has completed its moult. A refresh and extension of the most successful and iconic Palace of the Principality of Monaco.
Hotel de Paris Monte Carlo, iconic palace
It is in front of the splendid Casino of Monte-Carlo, on a field of olive-trees and lemon trees, that the billionaire François Blanc dreams at the end of the XIXth century of building "a hotel which exceeds all that was created until right here".
With the help of Prince Charles III and the Société des bains de mer, the Hotel de Paris came out of the ground in 1864. Alexandre Dumas, Winston Churchill, Maria Callas, Salvador Dali and many personalities will stay there, Errol Flynn will marry there. Initiant the concept of "resort", backed by the sumptuous marine thermal baths of Monaco and a set of restaurants collecting seven stars in the Michelin Guide including the famous Louis XV of Alain Ducasse, the Hotel de Paris has simply become a palace of legend .
It is first and foremost the beauty of the 1909 façade and the Belle Epoque architecture of the Hôtel de Paris that catches the eye as soon as we arrived on Monaco's Place du Casino. The entrance hall is grand : light colors, bright cupola, flowers, classicism and modernity mingle harmoniously. The new open-air patio bordered by palm trees and the shops of the finest jewelery houses adds a dimension of "luxury shopping" to the hotel.
Common areas, restaurants, rooms, have been redecorated with great taste and a sense of exemplary detail. The interior is modern. It gives off a pleasant atmosphere.
How is the hotel ?
Since its rebirth, Hotel de Paris has 207 keys including 60% suites and 40% rooms whose minimum area is now 34 square meters. A rotunda has been created, offering sublime perspectives on the Mediterranees sea from the new rooms and sumptuous family apartments. Architects Richard Martinet and Gabriel Viora raised the main building.
A wellness area was inaugurated on the roof with terrace, swimming pool and deckchairs, hammam, sauna, fitness area and lounge bar to complete the spacious facilities of the Thermes Marins, accessible to hotel guests by a dedicated corridor. The largest spa in Europe has advanced technologies (cryotherapy at -110 ° C ...), has a large indoor pool with panoramic views of the sea and Monaco, ultra modern equipment and a very nice terrace restaurant L'Hirondelle.
The "Hôtel de Paris" experience is inseparable from its thermal baths as it is from the Casino that faces it. Did you know that the equestrian statue of Louis XIV, in the entrance, would bring luck to players who touch the leg of the royal horse?
In all rooms, noble and precious materials are in the spotlight. Tussah Silk Mattresses Elite Bedding Bedding complies with stringent environmental standards, while the sheets, made of organic Pima cotton, are made by Quagliotti. Chandeliers and chandeliers come from Murano, the floors are composed of white marble of Calacatta, the bathroom products stamped Guerlain. In these rooms redecorated with taste, all is luxury and pleasure.
And with more than 120 suites, the Hotel de Paris is perfectly suited to couples and large families who can stay in any discretion. The Rotunda, with its Exclusive Rooms and Suites, offers breathtaking views and exquisite terraces on the Big Blue. As for the new Diamond Suites, apartments with two double bedrooms, two bathrooms, dressing room and a large living room, they are a luxury and an incredible comfort.
What you must remember ?
Hôtel de Paris is the perfect example of a palace that can reinvent itself with precision to preserve its iconic role. The Thermes de Monaco and the casino adjoining offer experiences as sharp as entertaining. The restaurant offering, to which was added the new Mediterranean restaurant OMER overseen by Alain Ducasse, is plethoric.
What makes the difference ?
Boasting a certain idea of luxury and elegance, Hotel de Paris Monte-Carlo, in its new setting, never pours into the ostentatious.
The Room to book
Undoubtedly the rooms with sea view. We recommend the Exclusive sea view rooms, comfortable and spacious, with or without terrace. If you travel in tribe, The Diamond Suites of the new rotunda are essential.
