Auberge Saint-Antoine, Hotel 71, Le Germain and Chateau Frontenac are some of the best hotels in Canada, according to readers of US and British magazines Condé Nast Traveler. These four hotels in the capital are among the Top 10 in Canada, according to Reader's Choice 2019. Quebec City is also ranked 3rd among the top 10 small cities in the world, behind Merida (Mexico) and Dresden (Germany), according to US readers. The British placed them 8th among the 20 best cities in the world, ahead of Amsterdam (Netherlands), Barcelona (Spain) and Sydney (Australia). Quebec is doing well when it is the only city in Canada honored, says the Quebec Tourism Office in a statement. More than 600 readers from around the world have evaluated their travel experience. To receive these distinctions certainly makes us warm to the heart. Condé Nast Traveler is a respected media in the tourist industry and knowing that its readers around the world place us among the best destinations is considerable, adds one. According to the director of the Office, Benoît Pigeon, this survey confirms that the warm welcome of the citizens, the charm and beauty of the capital are recognized by visitors.
