It is a monumental architectural project in which nature is the essence. In Paris, the Compagnie de Phalsbourg and Station F have launched a project for an eco-luxury hotel designed by Kengo Kuma, in collaboration with Marchi architects. A green lung of 12,700m2 that should see the light in 2022...
An eco-luxury hotel in Paris!
This is near the François Mitterand Library, overlooking Station F, that this eco-luxury hotel will be built. The renowned Japanese architect Kengo Kuma designed this hotel to bring an abundance of greenery to the development of the Paris Left Bank district. Blending wood, bronze, metal and plants, this crazy architectural project will be the first overseas location of the eco-luxury hotel group "1 Hotels". While on the one hand, the main hotel will feature 140 rooms, a fitness area, a coworking space, a panoramic rooftop restaurant and even a a cabaret designed by La Bellevilloise, on the other hand, a youth hotel named "Slo Living Hostel" will offer 179 beds. In addition to abundant outdoor planting, a colossal garden will nestle in the heart of the hotel complex...
"In the dense urban context of the Avenue de France, we felt the need to create a green lung for the city," explained the studio. "Nature finds a place at the heart of the project, translated by the intimate public garden where all the senses are awakened." Wooden fins arranged on the outside of the building to let the plantings intrude, inclusion of metal panels to reflect the sunlight, warm materiality of wood... Not only will the building come alive with light, but it has also been thought to live in communion with nature. Inside, wood will be just as omnipresent, from the cantilevered frames to the ceilings, floors and curtains. With the Aurore project, Compagnie de Phalsbourg & Station F, Kengo Kuma and Marchi Architects intend to reinforce the tourist appeal of the 13th arrondissement of Paris, thanks to an offer that is both ecological and open to the neighborhood and the world... Can't wait for 2022!
