What's the "Palace" distinction ?

The Palace distinction is a prestigious label that increases the international profile of 5 star hotels that present exceptional characteristics such as exceptional location, particular history, aesthetic and/or heritage interest, tailor-made service ... The reform of hotel classification implemented by the French law of July 22, 2009 focused on two main areas  : the modernization of classification criteria and the overhaul of the procedure for obtaining "new stars". Among the novelties introduced by this reform : the creation of the “5 stars” category. A challenge for image, attractiveness and influence, driving the entire offer, it is now the figurehead of the best in French hospitality.
This distinction, is awarded by the Palace Commission of Atout France, and chaired by Jean-Yves Le Drian, Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs.
